Work Program

At Olivet, students are offered a unique opportunity for experiential learning through work and service. This hands-on approach helps students navigate the working world, build confidence as young adults, and understand the value of serving others. Resident and full-time enrolled students are encouraged to work at Olivet, fostering an empathetic sense of service, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to caring for the community. Additionally, this opportunity helps students reduce their educational costs during their studies.


The work is organized into different tracks, each with specific descriptions and requirements. 

Position Title:
Mission Track – Evangelism and Bible Teaching

Required Schedule Flexibility
(1-5 scale with 5 as most flexible): 3

Job Description:
The Mission Track focuses on evangelism, Bible teaching, and campus outreach, engaging university students and young adults in spiritual growth. This role involves registering and operating Christian clubs, organizing mission-related events, and utilizing online platforms to share the Gospel.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evangelism on university campuses and online platforms.
  • Teach Bible studies, equipping students with a strong biblical foundation.
  • Register and manage Christian clubs, ensuring active participation and engagement.
  • Organize outreach events, mission gatherings, and special programs.
  • Foster relationships with students, mentoring them in faith and discipleship.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of evangelistic materials and content for outreach.
  • Assist in media evangelism by creating online mission content.
  • Collaborate with churches and ministries for joint outreach efforts.
  • Provide logistical support for mission-related activities and training programs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A committed Christian with a passion for evangelism and teaching.
  • Strong biblical knowledge and ability to teach foundational doctrines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills for event planning and club administration.

The Children’s Ministry Track at Olivet Academy is a structured role focused on teaching and caring for children in a ministry setting. This position requires commitment to a consistent schedule, ensuring stability and continuity in children’s education and spiritual growth.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach Bible-based lessons designed for children’s spiritual development.
  • Provide attentive care and supervision, fostering a Christ-centered environment.
  • Plan and implement structured activities that reinforce biblical values.
  • Develop and follow a set curriculum to maintain consistency in learning.
  • Maintain classroom order and ensure children’s safety and well-being.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in organizing children’s ministry events and seasonal programs.
  • Communicate with parents regarding children’s progress and needs.
  • Work with other educators and volunteers to enhance ministry effectiveness.
  • Support administrative tasks related to lesson planning and scheduling.

This role involves assisting deans and faculty, organizing library books, managing student data systems, and ensuring efficient workflow. A balance of structure and adaptability is required to meet the dynamic needs of the ministry.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist deans and faculty with scheduling, correspondence, and administrative support.
  • Manage and update student data systems, ensuring accuracy and organization.
  • Organize and maintain library books, catalogs, and records.
  • Prepare and process ministry documents, reports, and meeting notes.
  • Support church and ministry operations by handling logistical and clerical tasks.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help coordinate ministry events by managing administrative aspects.
  • Assist with record-keeping, filing, and document organization.
  • Provide communication support for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain inventory and supplies for office and library use.
  • Adapt to urgent or changing administrative needs as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A committed Christian with a heart for ministry support.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in office software and data management systems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

The Music & Worship Track focuses on leading worship, participating in church music ministry, and supporting related activities. This role involves planning and performing worship music, coordinating with church leadership, and fostering a spiritually enriching worship environment. A balance of structure and adaptability is needed to accommodate church services, rehearsals, and special events.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead worship in church services, prayer meetings, and special gatherings.
  • Select and prepare music that aligns with the spiritual theme of services.
  • Work with pastors and ministry leaders to coordinate worship sets.
  • Organize and conduct rehearsals for worship teams and musicians.
  • Engage the congregation in meaningful and spirit-led worship experiences.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in music-related administrative tasks, such as song selection and scheduling.
  • Maintain and organize worship equipment, instruments, and sound systems.
  • Support church events by providing musical accompaniment and leadership.

Job Description:
The Christian Assets Management & Maintenance Track focuses on managing ministry sites, preparing facilities for retreats and gatherings, and assisting in renovations, horticultural tasks, and maintenance under professional guidance. This role requires organizational skills, hands-on work, and the ability to support both small and large-scale events while ensuring the site remains in good condition. Necessary work insurance coverage will be provided.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee site management for retreats, conferences, and ministry gatherings.
  • Assist in preparing facilities for events, including setup and teardown.
  • Support renovation projects under professional guidance.
  • Perform horticultural tasks such as landscaping and garden care under supervision.
  • Conduct minor repairs and general maintenance with professional oversight.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety of the site.
  • Monitor and report maintenance needs for timely repairs.
  • Assist in coordinating logistics for event planning and execution.
  • Work with external contractors or professionals when required.
  • Maintain tools and equipment used for site upkeep.

The Business as Mission Track focuses on applying biblical and ethical business principles to generate financial support for frontier mission work. This role involves developing and managing business initiatives that align with Christian values, ensuring sustainability, and using business as a tool for evangelism and community impact.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business models that support mission work.
  • Apply biblical ethics in financial planning, marketing, and operations.
  • Identify and pursue revenue-generating opportunities to sustain missions.
  • Assist in managing finances, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Engage in business outreach efforts to build relationships and share the Gospel.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support mission projects by providing business-related insights and strategies.
  • Maintain records and reports on financial performance and impact.
  • Work with local communities to create sustainable business solutions.
  • Research and apply best practices in business as mission (BAM).
  • Collaborate with mission leaders to integrate business efforts with ministry goals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Understanding of basic business principles and ethical financial management.
  • Computer operation skills, including internet use and basic searching.
  • Ability to manage content and organize digital business records.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in business development, management, or entrepreneurship.
  • Knowledge of biblical perspectives on business and stewardship.
